Our mandate spans 10 countries of the Eastern Africa region; Ethiopia, South Sudan, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Kenya, Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Malawi and Zambia.
We are a membership-based organization that brings together key stakeholders in the grain sector across Eastern Africa region. We are trusted to connect, represent, and support actors along the grain value chain to facilitate an efficient, structured, inclusive and profitable grain trade.
Our membership spans three core sectors of the grain value chain—farmers/producers, traders, and processors. These include smallholder and commercial producers, aggregators and traders, warehouse operators, exporters and importers, as well as millers and value-addition enterprises. By convening these different and diverse grain value chain actors, EAGC fosters stronger collaboration, market integration, and shared solutions to sector-wide challenges.
This report presents a detailed account of our activities over the past year, highlighting our financial performance, strategic priorities, and major accomplishments.
Our work focuses on creating an enabling environment for regional and international grain trade through data driven policy research and advocacy, timely and reliable market intelligence, and the promotion of quality grain standards and best practices.
We deliver targeted training and capacity-building programs that strengthen industry skills and incentivize the grain sector, while expanding access to structured grain trading systems that reduce risk, improve market transparency, and enhance trust among value chain actors.
From policy dialogue and research initiatives to trade facilitation, business-to-business (B2B) market linkages, and skills development, every EAGC intervention is guided by a single purpose: to grow value for our members and strengthen the resilience, competitiveness, and sustainability of the grain sector in Eastern Africa.
